The 5th Anthony Fasano Foundation Golf Classic – May 7, 2012

On May 7, 2012 The Anthony Fasano Foundation Golf Classic returns for its fifth installment. Each and every year, the Anthony and his Foundation staff tries to raise the bar and this year will be no exception. After spending the last three years at the Upper Montclair Golf Club, the outing has moved locations and will take place this year at The Montclair Golf Club located on 25 Prospect Avenue in West Orange, New Jersey.

Fasano is honored to once again raise funds for REED Academy, a school in Oakland, NJ that serves children with Autism. In September of 2011, REED Academy opened its new home, a brand new school building whose playground is named after Fasano.

Thanks to the support of the community and our sponsors last years outing was another huge success, which included 30 celebrity attendees. Some of the stars included, Miles Austin, Brian Leonard, Brady Quinn, Ricky Williams Shaun O’Hara, Josh Freeman, and Joe Faugno from TLC’s The Cake Boss. The voice of the New York Football Giants, Bob Papa was the emcee for the awards dinner.

Details on foursomes and packages will be released shortly so stay tuned. Should you have any questions in the meantime, you can Pat Capra via email at PCapra@lunarsportsgroup.com or phone at 973-228-5500.

Anthony Fasano making the most of his limited opportunities

by Ben Volin (The Palm Beach Post Blog)

Three Miami Dolphins talking points to jumpstart your Victory Monday:

1. Anthony Fasano making the most of his limited opportunities.

His stats aren’t exactly sexy – just 15 catches through nine games, for 250 yards and three touchdowns. That’s 1.67 catches, 27.8 yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game.

But the raw numbers don’t illustrate the importance of Fasano, the Dolphins’ sixth-year tight end. Without him, the Dolphins probably don’t defeat the Redskins on Sunday.

Fasano caught three of four passes thrown his way for 60 yards, including two crucial catches on the Dolphins’ game-clinching touchdown drive. One was an 11-yard catch on third-and-8. Another was an incredible one-handed grab for 21 yards on second-and-9 to move the Dolphins into scoring range.

For the season, Fasano has only been targeted 20 times, but he’s caught 15 of the passes, averages 15.8 yards per reception (seventh-best among 62 tight ends) and, most importantly, has not dropped a pass all season. (more…)

Bush’s two TDs help Dolphins halt Grossman, ‘Skins

MIAMI — Reggie Bush scored two touchdowns, and the Dolphins twice intercepted Rex Grossman passes to earn their first home victory in nearly a year by beating the Washington Redskins 20-9 on Sunday.

The Dolphins ended a franchise-record streak of seven consecutive losses in Miami since last Nov. 14.

Grossman was a surprise starter, replacing John Beck four weeks after being benched. Grossman threw for 215 yards, but he was sacked three times and had a passer rating of 58.7.

Miami (2-7) won for the second week in a row after starting 0-7. Washington (3-6) dropped its fifth consecutive game, the longest losing streak of Mike Shanahan’s career as a head coach.

Anthony Fasano finished with three catches for 60 yards.
